Be honest.

I bought a Dell Latitude laptop through UC's "discount" program and it cost me a fortune. Ummm...over $1,800.

I added memory, to 1.0gb, 1 DIMM. I also put on the cd burner and floppy disk. And since it was only like $40 more, I did the hard drive up to 80gb.

I see all these ads that sell laptops so much more cheaply, often with similar features.

Tell me, did I just get gypped?

No, I don't think so. The Lattitude is more of your business built laptop. Average consumers get the inspiron.

With the modifications you mentioned, it sounds about right. Other things I would need to know to really figure out its worth are the processor type and front side buss (FSB)speed.

But it sounds about right to me.
